Whoops! Don’t Panic – dotdigital Makes It Easy To Fix Links In Emails, Even After You’ve Pressed Send

Pressing the Send button for your latest email marketing campaign can be a hesitant moment. In fact let’s be honest, it can sometimes be a little bit stressful.

Because even in a perfect world of perfect email marketers (I think they call it Zanadu – Ed) mistakes like the wrong hyperlink on a Call To Action can slip through the net.

If you’re a dotdigital user you should find pressing the Send button a lot less stressful – not least because dotdigital runs a comprehensive check of your email before you send it , and high-lights possible issues.

But also because – and this is very useful to know if you didn’t already know it – in dotdigital you can amend a link in a campaign after you’ve sent it.

So if by some cruel twist of fate you realise you’ve used the wrong link for a click-through in your email campaign, you can take these swift steps to minimise the impact:

1. Click on the Sent Campaigns tab in Campaigns

2. Click on the Summary icon next to the campaign you want to edit

3. Under ‘HTML Content’ click on View/Edit Hyperlinks

Now you can correct any links you need to, click the Save icon, and your email will update itself in your recipients’ inboxes. What a life saver!

Prevention better than cure

Here’s another dotdigital tip for checking your hyperlinks before you send.

In our new EasyEditor, there’s a ‘Review’ tab in the top right of your screen.

Click here when you’re editing a campaign and click Show Links, for an
at-a-glance list of all the live links in your template, for you to click through and test.

Happy sending!
